Obituary of Anne-Marie Louis
Please share a memory of Anne-Marie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Anne Marie Yvana Louis passed away peacefully in her
sleep at the Arcola Health & Rehabilitation Center on Monday, March 31, 2020 at the age of 76 years.
Anne Marie was born on April 13, 1943 in Ducis, Cayes Haiti, a small village situated in the south of Haiti.
She received a general studies degree from St. Anne College in Cayes Haiti. After graduation she worked as an elementary school teacher for 5
years at the “Ecole Nationale Foyer Social Rose Lhérisson” in Port-Au-Prince Haiti. She later migrated to America in 1973 where she studied nursing and
had a successful 20-year career in health care services at Providence Hospital.
Anne- Marie’s parents were Ilrosa Franciose Elonard-Louis and Legrave Louis. She was the second daughter of six siblings: Rose Iva Michel, Mireille Peitit, Marie Yolanda Allien(who passed away in 1989), Josette Louis, Jeanine Pierre-Jean, and a brother Legrave Jr. who passed away days old.
She was a caring, supportive and loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. Just like her late mother, Anne Marie was a devout catholic, she attended mass every Sunday at Our Lady. of Sorrows church until her recent illness last year. She will be always remembered as a loving mother and grandmother and whose greatest passion was helping others.Even though she is no longer with us she has left the legacy of her love. The ways she touched our lives will remain, and we ask you to keep those memories alive by sharing them with one another.
She is survived by eight nephews: Stanley, Frank, Samuel, Jeremiah, Frantz, Sergio, Pierre, and Jeff. And by six nieces: Edwidge, Rose May, Florence, Charlestine Ugomma, Fabolia, and Renee Marie. All nieces and nephews were considered to be her children, so she is also survived by twelve grandchildren.
