Obituary of Cecelia Bernadette Smith

Please share a memory of Cecelia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Cecelia Bernadette Smith was born in Washington, DC on March 26, 1961 to the late Annie Bell Davis and Charlie Columbus Smith. God saw fit to call her home on Tuesday, March 31, 2020. Cecelia was affectionally known as “Peaches” and “Peachy” to her family and as “CeCe” to her close friends. She was educated in the DC Public School System and received her GED at the DC Job Corp. She later went on to work for Giant grocery store until her health began to decline. Peaches took great pride in her children and grandchildren. She was always eager to brag of children serving their country and city. Her son is serving his country in the United States Navy and her daughter is serving her hometown as a Metropolitan Police Officer. She often bragged and showed pictures of her grandchildren. You could without question find her on her laptop ordering items to spoil her grandchildren every chance she got. Her family was her world. She never met a stranger and was always available to help and assist where and when she could. Peaches now rests in peace with her two sisters, Kim “Cat” Caldwell and Marion “Penny” Fye that preceded in her death. She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Melissa Stokes and Wayne Spriggs that she affectionally called “Tiger” of Waldorf, MD; her grandchildren: Christopher “CJ” Stokes and Makenzi Stokes of Waldorf, MD; four brothers: Anthony and Allen Davis, Terry Smith, all of Washington, DC and James “Smiley” Davis of South Carolina; two sisters: Stephanie Caldwell and Christine Davis of Washington, DC. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, special niece, Arkazia “AA” Caldwell, dedicated friend, Ms Etta Lyles, dedicated health care aid, Hilda Nkemacha and longtime sister in life, Bathesba Israel.
