A Celebration of Life Reflections

Dakarai Jelani Miller went to be with his Lord on May 10, 2020.  God saw fit to personally heal and give him everlasting peace. This precious angel was escorted home to a peaceful rest and receive his Heavenly rewards.

Dakarai Jelani Miller was born November 4, 1976, at Mather Air Force Base, Sacramento, California, to Daniel and Terrie Miller.  He has an older brother and a younger brother.  He and his brothers, Demetric and Darius traveled around the world for over twenty years as military dependents.

Dakarai graduated from Ramstein High School, Ramstein Air Base, Germany in 1994.  Following high school, Dakarai joined the United States Air Force, 1995, where he served as an Air Force Personnel Specialist and Security Forces Police Augmentee.   He was honorably discharged in 1999, having served faithfully for four years.  After his discharge, Dakarai continued his education in business and information system management.  He worked as a Mold Remediation Specialist, Driving School Instructor, and bookstore manager.  From early childhood, Dakarai was an enthusiastic reader and an avid collector of books.   He was an exceptional writer and this gifted ability allowed him to author and publish three books, numerous articles and essays.  Dakarai was recognized by the Writers Guild of America for his exceptional writing ability, of which he, his family, and friends were exceedingly proud.  In his spare time, he loved spending time with his family, playing his base guitar, poetry, cooking, music, art, marvel movies, comics, and the theatre.  After meeting and dating his wife Nanci, they were married August 17, 2012.

While traveling the world as a child, one aspect remained constant, he attended church regularly with his family.   As a young man, he reestablished his relationship with God under the mentorship of his lifelong friend Pastor Gene W. McCants II of Milton Florida. Their close brotherly love started back in 1989 at Ramstein Middle School and continues as he answers the call to his heavenly father.

Dakarai leaves behind to mourn; his wife Nanci, parents Daniel and Terrie Miller, brothers’ Demetric and Darius Miller, two Nieces, Syrai and Sydney, and a host of family and friends.
