Obituary of Guehenno Laborde, Jr.

Please share a memory of Guehenno to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Jr was born on the second of December 2001 in Silver Spring MD.  He was named after his father therefore got the nick name of Jr. His beloved father was always excited about his duplication.  Jr was a busy child who love to try different sports and physical activities such as field hockey, basketball, wrestling, zip lining, front flipping.  He had a gift for art, music and theater where he played violin then base. He went on to play a few roles in acting from school to church programs.  His drawing was also mind blowing enough that a patent was obtained for it.  He was curious enough to learn about each and every activity that school had to offer.  He run for class president at each grade level.  He actually won some class president in some of them. Jr tended to use what he was learning to challenge the teacher be it at school or at church or Vacation Bible School or any setting that involved formal learning.   From Kindergarten to middle school, Jr was a challenge to the teachers.  He knew exactly how to get into trouble so he can be sent home or be sent to the principal’s office so he can be seen seating with authorities.  He was not punishable as he pleasantly translates the punishment into something that would make others want to be on his position.  However, all throughout those busy days of distraction, he was learning.  In second grade, for example, he was believed to be failing the class only for him to be tested at the state level and be the laureate.  The discrepancy between his schoolwork and his test scores often confused the teachers.  He kept everyone on their toes including being a player for the basketball team, he went on to graduate from Cannon Road Elementary school and Mario Loiederman Middle School for the Arts.

After his freshman year at Blake High School and a player for the Bengal’s Basketball team, Jr became bored with the standard learning system and went about high school his way!  He was homeschooled briefly and tested into college within a few months. Jr went on the achieved a 3.9 GPA and was accepted at the Maryland University for the year 2020.  His goal was to become a Dental Surgeon.  When asked why that career choice he said that he wanted to work less than most people and make more money.

Jr had an older brother Gabriel and a younger sister Frances.  Jr was always the center of attention; unlike other middle children he was never invisible.  By the age of 12, Jr was thinking ahead.  He reached out to Mercedes Benz and inquire about becoming an intern.  He was told to wait until he was 16 years old. By the time he was 16 years old, his interest had moved into the Stock Market and finance. He had to wait until he turned 18 to join the stock market.  He waited for the stock market age limit and went on to score big! He got invited to Silicon Valley as a Stock Market Prodigy only for him to stop and went back to school as he did not want to work this hard.

Hobby: He loves to listen to classical music while taking joy rides.  He loved and wrote poetry. He also enjoyed other genres of music.

Jr loved to work on cars and the house with his dad.  He learned from dad and moved solo very quickly to get things done around the house.  He never failed to fascinate his father.  As for mother, he decorated the house and took pride on that and so did she.  Jr never failed to make his parent feel blessed to have him as a child.  Life seems to have failed Jr as he also struggled with an undiagnosed painful health issue.  Though he was cared for and loved by all, he succumbed to his health challenge.

Jr. Left behind a host of love ones, an older brother, sister, father, mother, grandparents, 7 aunties and 7 uncles and cousins and a lot of great friends.  Jr also left behind his beloved dog Brady, a pure breed Great Dane.

Jr, you are terribly missed!
