Lillie Mae England was born to Frank England and Ella Ramseur England on July 28, 1933 in Maiden, North Carolina and departed this life September 17, 2020. She aUended public schools in Maiden, NC and fellowshipped with the Seventh Day AdvenHst Church where she accepted Christ as her savior as a young girl.
She later moved to Washington, DC where she met and was united in holy matrimony to Wilbert Durham in 1955 and they started their blended family. This union was blessed with three children. Wilbert preceded her in death in November 1999. Mother Durham was a member of Capital Temple COGIC.
Lillie Mae worked as a short order cook for the MarrioU “Hot Shoppe” CorporaHon for 21 years. She was later employed by Pepco Holdings where she reHred in 1998. Mother Durham quietly departed this life Thursday, September 17th at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a younger sister Shirley Frances England, a brother George Franklin England, and daughter Francis Louise Gregg (Lou). She is survived by one sister Mary Helen Lackey of Newton, NC.
Her beauHful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Apostle Clebert Ray Durham (Ireatha), Elder Thomas Durham (Clara), Vanessa Gorham, Sabreta Durham-Moore (Glenn), Sheila Murray, and Jacqueline Montegut; One sister in-law Elsie Davis (Clyde), 15 grand children, 7 great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews
