Obituary of Christopher Adolph McGusty
Christopher Adolph McGusty also known as “Chrissy”, “McGusty”, or simply “Chris”, 72, was born one of eleven children to the late Alan and Clarice McGusty in Georgetown, Guyana on November 7, 1948. Chris made a lasting impression on all who were blessed to meet him. Chris peacefully transitioned to eternal rest at home on November 7, 2020.
Chris married the love of his life, Yvette McGusty, and they enjoyed 40 blissful years together.
He served in the Guyana Defense Force (G.D.F) and when he migrated to the U.S, Chris enjoyed many employment opportunities.
Chris was a generous man who was known for cooking. You could not come and leave his home without a meal. He had such a big heart, he would literally give you the shirt off of his back. During his leisure time you could always find him in his backyard gardening or relaxing in his garage listening to his music and people watching.
Chris was someone everyone enjoyed being around. He was always the life of the party, making people laugh, and always telling an old time story. He was very passionate about spending time with his family. He was someone anyone could count on or call for anything. He was loved by everyone he interacted with, even if he might’ve seemed a little “hard” at first.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Alan and Clarice McGusty; his siblings Velma Barret, Jackie Johnson, Victor McGusty and Michael McGusty; and his son, Gavin Thompson.
Treasured moments of him will be remembered by his devoted wife Yvette McGusty; his loving children, Camika Rohanda Williams (m. Gary Williams), Kimberly Kendall, Rashleigh McGusty (m.S hannaMcGusty),ShenikaRobinson, andKristinaMcGusty(BrandonDickens);andhis absolutely adored grandchildren Eric McGusty, Erica McGusty, Naheim Kendall, Rashaun McGusty, Meleke Beverly, Jaden Kendall, Zakai McGusty, Elijah Williams, Ayden Dickens, and Averi Dickens.
His memories will forever be cherished in the hearts of his siblings: Melrose La Fargue, Jean Jardine, Clive McGusty, Handel McGusty, Ercel McGusty, and Terrence McGusty; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, lifelong friends, and family members.
Rest peacefully with our savior Jesus Christ, until we meet again.
