Obituary of Henry Lee Bostick Jr.
Henry Lee Bostick, Jr., was born September 24, 1937, in Estill, South Carolina to the late Henry Lee
Bostick, Sr. and the late Mattie Bellinger Housey. He was educated in the Estill, South Carolina public
school system.
In 1958, he married Vera Virginia Wilson and from this union four children were born: Sheila, Henry III,
Garey and Saundra. At times he attended the Highway Christian Church of Christ, located in
Washington, DC, where Vera was a lifelong member until her passing in 2015, with his family. Henry
and Vera divorced in 1997.
Henry enjoyed bowling, fishing, and singing Sam Cooke songs. He was left handed and played guitar for
years with various quartet groups in the Washington metropolitan area. Henry was a carpenter by trade
and retired from the District Government in 1992.
Henry leaves to cherish his memory 4 children: Sheila Bostick-Dobbs (Samuel), Henry L. Bostick, III,
(Reba), Garey C. Bostick, Sr. and Saundra Bostick-Stewart (David), 6 grandchildren, LaKeisha, Travis
(preceded him in death), Garey, Jr., Asia, Leandra, Daaron, Deion, 3 great grandchildren, an uncle Jesse
Wilson, Sr., a very special sister-in-law Albertha Cobb, and a host of siblings, relatives, and friends.
