Obituary of Mattie Gordon

“The Name that Describes Love ”

Mattie LeNell Gordon was born on August 13, 1947 in Halifax, North Carolina to the late Anderson & Alberta Sharp. Our Heavenly Father call her home on January 29, 2021 at Washington Hospital Center. Mattie Gordon married the beloved Allen Gordon on June 21,1962. They were married 39 years before God called him home to glory on November 9, 2001. From this union they were blessed with three amazing souls.

Mattie was a Momma Bear over her three children. She was a dedicated caregiver to her children and made sure she attended every field trip, PTA meeting and anything involving the growth of their education. Although Mattie did not graduate high school, she made sure her children were able too. Mattie made sure they were ALWAYS taken care of.

The Gordon house was the house of unconditional love. If the family needed a place to stay, the door was always open. Mattie was a woman who loved with her whole
heart. There was never a time when Mattie deprived her family of anything. She made sure to tell them that she loved them always. Her love was without condition and could be felt upon entering the room and through conversations. She truly was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

She is survived and leaves to cherish her memory, her oldest daughter Angela Gordon, baby girl Mattie-Nicole Litteton, dedicated son-in-love, Louis Littleton, daughter-in-love Tisha Littleton, seven grandchildren Lashawda Gordon, Reginald Gordon, Demetria Holly, Darius Holly, Denai Holly, Danyiel Hol- ly & Asante' Littleton. Six great-grandchildren Azarie Robinson, Kimora Holly, Darius Holly Jr, Peyton Robinson, Cordell Robin- son Jr., and Asahd Holly.Four sisters: Leaster Bowe(Aaron) of Virginia, Nora Allen of North Carolina, Sarah Marshall of North Carolina, Nannie Ruth Hammond of North Carolina, Sharon Sharp (Billy) of Virginia, Rosland Sharp of Washington DC. Two brothers: Roland Sharp (Juanita) of North Carolina & Ander- son Sharpof North Carolina. Brother in love Clarence Gordon of Atlanta, GA. and sister in love, Margaret Hamlett. Two best friends: Ozella Thorne and Sarah Mackey. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, family and friends that she loved with all her heart
