Obituary of Vivian Bellinger-Biggers
Vivian Bellinger-Biggers was born on June 15, 1950, in DC General Hospital, to the late Frontis and Watson Bellinger, Sr., in Washington, DC. In 1968, she graduated from Eastern Senior High School in Washington, DC. Vivian received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the District of Columbia Teachers’ College in 1973. Vivian was a dedicated mother to her two children, Shamai Carter and Managi Lord-Biggers. She adored her “grandbaby” Anyra.
Vivian was a member of Harvest Life Changers International Church in Woodbridge, Virginia for over 15 years, but most recently joined Alfred Street Baptist Church in Alexandria, Virginia. She received her right hand of fellowship on June 27, 2020.
For over 30 years, Vivian had a thriving career in teaching, library services and copyright at the Library of Congress. Vivian enjoyed an eclectic range of interests spanning from genealogy, traveling, volunteering, golfing, literature, politics, and spending time with her family.
Vivian quietly and peacefully transitioned to her spiritual home on Saturday, February 13, 2021, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Vivian is survived by: her two children Shamai Carter (Emmanuel) and Managi Lord-Biggers (Rob), her granddaughter, Anyra Azoro; six brothers: William Brown (preceeded in death), Robert, Sr. (preceeded in death), Watson, Jr. (Angela), Bernard, Michael, Sr. (preceeded in death), Arnold (Thelma); five sisters: Kathleen, LaVerne, Mary Lynn (preceeded in death), Brenda and Frontis Marie; sister-in laws: Doris Brown (brother: William deceased), and Joanne Bellinger (brother: Michael, Sr.-deceased); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
