Obituary of Robert Randall, Jr.
Mr. Robert Randall, Jr., affectionately known as “Boot” by family and friends, was born on August 16, 1947, to the Robert and Louise Randolph, in Coatopa, AL.
Robert grew up used to hard work and graduated from Belmont High School in 1965. He was drafted into the U.S. Army shortly thereafter, where he bravely served in the Vietnam War. After his tour of duty ended, Robert moved to Compton, CA, where he became a licensed contractor and started his own business in that field. He was a hard worker and well respected by clients, colleagues, and neighbors alike.
Robert often travelled back home to Alabama to visit family and loved talking long distance on the phone with his brothers and dad when he couldn’t visit home. He would also go to gatherings in California with his mom and sisters as often as he could. Family was very important to him and he always said they should “stick together.” Robert also had a great love for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who he referred to as his “grandstankies.”
Robert lived his life to the fullest until health challenges rendered him unable to work or travel as much. In his last few years of life, serious health issues brought about a need for him to move to Bristow, Virginia with his daughter and son-in-law, Quza and Bobby Allums. From there, Robert moved to the Washington, DC VA Community Living Center, where he made fast friends with residents and won the hearts of staff.
Robert was called to rest on March 10, 2021, at the DC VA Facility, after a last visit from his children. He leaves to cherish his precious memories five children, Jaunittia Clark, Long Beach, CA; Katrina Randall, Cerritos, CA; Quza (Bobby) Allums, Bristow, VA; Robert Keith (Karen) Randall, Compton, CA; Mary Randall, Demopolis, AL; and one step-son, Anthony (Darielle) Jackson, Woodstock, GA.; ten grandchildren; Danielle Roberson, Xavier Yoakum, Devin Yoakum, Ariel Ingram, Bryanna Smith, Bobby Allums, Jr., Brelon Allums, Khmer Randall, Persephone Randall, William McDonald; two great-grandchildren, Mya Colbert and Dylan Colbert. Randolph, of Coatopa, AL; Joseph Randolph, Detroit, MI, Willia Mills and Geraldine Martinez, Long Beach, CA, and Jackie (Raymond) Cabassa, Stanton,CA. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
