Obituary of David D. Williams, Sr

Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

David D. Williams, Sr. was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica on November 18th, 1964 to Stanley and Jennifer Williams. He lived his life to the fullest and made no apologies to anyone. On March 26th, 2021, David entered his rest in the bosom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

David obtained his early years education in Jamaica until Stanley and Jennifer moved to the states in 1972. He attended Rollingcrest Junior High School and went on to attend Laurel High School where he graduated in 1985. David was a true entrepreneur at heart from an early age. From paper routes to restaurants, David in his early twenties started his own courier service. He continued his interest in many areas including real estate and various types of investing. In 1996 he started D-Night Express Courier Service. A true entrepreneur at heart., after many years, he pursued his next venture and purchased a box truck to do larger, higher volume transports. With a clear vision of growing the company, he employed his nephew Delani to join him.

David accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior at an early age in life. He was blessed to be under the leadership of giants in the faith including the late Bishop Alphonso Way and the late Bishop Clarence Givens. He considered Bishop Senyo Bulla his spiritual father and mentor. In 2018, David fully supported and partnered with his wife to start Sent 4U Ministries. He truly was a light in this world sharing the love of GOD wherever he went and was sent.

David had a commanding presence wherever he went. Good, bad or indifferent, he left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Always community and family oriented, he did not hesitate to share his knowledge and opinion. Well intentioned, David was "unfiltered". An avid Eagles fan, the household never had a dull moment as the NFC East was well represented. His heated exchanges with his brother Dwayne could be felt all the way from Maryland to Atlanta.

David loved all of his family. He believed in unifying everyone and worked overtime to do so. The care David had for his mother Jennifer is a model for any mother/son relationship. He and his brothers are an inspiration to all who look on and watch the interaction they have with their children. Most of all, David was a devoted husband and father. The individual and collective loving relationship David had with his wife Sherrell, daughter Camille and sons David Jr., Anthony and Matthew are undeniable. Family gatherings and trips were full of laughter, fun and shenanigans.

David leaves to cherish his loving memories wife of 25 years Sherrell, his children Camille, David Jr., Anthony, Matthew and soon to arrive granddaughter Toni; father Stanley, mother Jennifer Williams, mother-in-law Ann, father-in-law Harold; brothers Norris, Everton (Genevieve), Dwayne (Shoba), and Collin, sisters Ann and Junie, aunts, uncles, a host of nieces, nephews, great nephews and great nieces, cousins, friends and business associates.
