Obituary of Celimene Pierre
Célimèn Zulmé Pierre was born in 1935 in Miragoane, specifically in a small community called nan Chakin. Her mother was Charitable Narcisse and her father was Mirais Zulmé. She had 4 siblings Marie, Odememe, Norilia, and Iram.
She traveled to Port-Au-Prince with her aunt, Elina, to start working as a caretaker of young children at the age of six. She continued to work as a caretaker until the age of 18 when she started having her own kids’ Jean Claude, Louis Edouard, Marie Yolette, Condillac Jean Jacques, Antoine Kennedy, Micheline, and Joél Dumay Junior, with her husband Joél Dumay Pierre. She then lost her husband when she was 35 and later lost her first born when she was 81. She took care of all of her kids in a loving way and fought so that they never went hungry. As she got older, she cared for her grandchildren in the same manner. She was the most patient and loving person you’d ever meet, with the most extraordinary singing voice. She loved to sew. But most importantly, she loved everyone.
