Obituary
Victor Ray Peterson, was born June 13, 1967, to Howard and Floretta Peterson. Ray, as he is affectionately known was the last of the six children born to the Peterson family. Victor was educated in the DC Public School System, where he learned to play the piano and sang in the school choir. Ray enjoyed playing basketball, laughing, hanging with his friends, and playing spades.
Ray accepted the Lord at an early age under the leadership of Pastor Frances Madden, Prayer Mission Church of Jesus Christ where he served on the usher board, sang on the choir, and preached his first sermon on “Peter”. In 1983, he met the love of his life Bobbi Sophia Jones and together they would parent three beautiful daughters Deshaunte (deceased), Janay, and Zaria. Ray completed his education at Dunbar High School’s home study program in Washington, DC, in 1985. He then went on to work in the federal government, as a Library Technician; at the Naval Research Laboratory in Southwest, DC.
Ray was a committed husband and father whose hobbies included fishing, working on cars and a self proclaimed “Grill Master”.
