Ray accepted the Lord at an early age under the leadership of Pastor Frances Madden, Prayer Mission Church of Jesus Christ where he served on the usher board, sang on the choir, and preached his first sermon on “Peter”.   In 1983, he met the love of his life Bobbi Sophia Jones and together they would parent three beautiful daughters Deshaunte (deceased), Janay, and Zaria.  Ray completed his education at Dunbar High School’s home study program in Washington, DC, in 1985.  He then went on to work in the federal government, as a Library Technician; at the Naval Research Laboratory in Southwest, DC.

Ray was a committed husband and father whose hobbies included fishing, working on cars and a self proclaimed “Grill Master”.  Ray is mostly remembered for his love of football and his love for the Washington Redskins.  A”Die-hard” Skins fan each year with Super bowl hopes never out of reach.
