Eunice Elem was born on October 13th, 1953 in Washington DC she passed away on October 2nd, 2017 at 1654 PM in her sleep she attended TC Williams High School in Alexandria Virginia when she graduated the places of employment throughout her life were the post office for many years Naval surface weapon Center and Washington Nationals Stadium was her last place of employment.

My mom love people so much that she would help them by letting different people stay with her giving up her bedroom while she slept in the living room until they got their own place. She had a big heart she was a precious gentle soul to me she always told me look out for my brother and my grandmother always made  me take my brother with me everywhere with me. I understood what my mom said she told me when I got older but when my grandmother used to say that I was when I was younger but because of them too that's why me and my brother are really close we have a really tight bond. My mom told me the story of when she would take my brother to the store with his friends and my brother would always say don't nobody get anything until I get my sister something first. My mom travel the world with her friend George she had the chance to see different places and tell me about them .She enjoyed going out to the grocery store with me out to eat get our nails our feet done and hair or just to go to the mall to go shopping. One thing about going out to eat she always had to have steak and crab or steak and shrimp even if it wasn't on the menu. My mom talked about God to me everyday  she went to Church 3rd street Church Of God every Sunday with her friend Sylvia. She shared memories back when she had to help take care of all her siblings because she was the oldest .Her sister Carolyn shared with me that she was my mom's bodyguard when they were younger because my Mom stole everybody's boyfriend so my aunt was fighting a lot. My Uncle Calvin just shared with me that just over the summer that him and my uncle Eric picked her up and they rode around with the top down and my mom was just tickled about spending time with her brothers. My mom always would tell me the same memories over and over again the one I know was her favorite was her little brother Eric always said that I was his baby she would always smile while she went down the good memory lane which made me smile aswell. I shared a memory with her when I was younger that I didn't like my little brother and why she bring him home so I had coverd him up and baby powder and the only thing you can see was his eyes . I love him now don't worry so, she came in her room and she look down and she said why did you do that to him and she just bust out laughing. I took my mom to the grocery store every month and sometimes it was an adventure because my mom had a couple drinks before I got there so she used to take a longer than usual in the grocery store and I like to shop left or right she likes to shop middle left right right left middle having me running up and down telling me she forgot this and that  and that and everybody in the store laughed all the time it was like it was a comedy skit so ,this last time at the store by the seafood department a young man walked up started talking to me mom is beside me then he hug my mom offered to take my mom to the store sometimes so, I wouldn't have to come so far and my mom was like all he's so cute he's so sweet and this young man reminds me of my mom and alot of ways he has a big heart ,kind,  gentle and he goes out of his way to help people just like my mom. Thanks for being there Andre (Floss) and thank you Aunt Carolyn and Serita for helping me.

If Roses grow in Heaven

If Roses grow in Heaven

Lord, please pick a bunch for me.

Place them in my Mother's arms

and tell her they're from me.

Tell her that I love her and miss her,

and when she turns to smile,

place a kiss upon her cheek

and hold her for a while.

Because remembering her is easy,

I do it every day,

but there's an ache within my heart

that will never go away.

Love, Ricky
