Dear Tara. I am saddened on the news of the loss of your mother. Dear Ms. Smith was a mother and a whole lot more to the Howard University School of Pharmacy "Pharmily." The rigors of the academic program, and the administrative processes were just some of the experiences that made our Howard University experience both challenging and quite rewording. With her help, I was able to navigate it all. With her genuine smile, soothing voice, and reassuring words of encouragement, I knew I could forge ahead yet another day ... and on through graduation. To that end, Ms. Smith's is one name and face that I will forever associate with the great gift of partaking in the LEGACY of Howard University and this wonderful profession of pharmacy.
For as many memories I have of your mother, I recognize you have many more. I pray that the Lord grant you and your family the strength to cope with your loss. May the sweet memories of your mother serve to comfort you and your family during this trying time. Amen.
Sincerely,
Emeka Egwim (Class of 2011)
