Obituary of Jabbor Nakym Sheffield

Please share a memory of Jabbor to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

                                            Jabbar Nakym Sheffield AKA “Jet”
joined his heavenly father on the evening of Tuesday, November 23, 2021. Jabbar was born at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD on November 5, 1996 to his loving Mother LaDawn R. Crocker and Father Nakym Sheffield. Jabbar was a young man with values, integrity, and goals. His presence was always calming, serene and helpful. He would bend over backwards to please without any hesitation. Jabbar was a dedicated father to his two precious boys; Noah and Logan. His main goal was to make sure his boys were well taken care of. He kept them by his side at all times.

Jabbar was a young man of many passions. He loved football. His favorite team was the Minnesota Vikings. He played little league football with Kettering Largo Mitchellville (KLM), which then lead him to play “Running Back” for Friendship Collegiate Academy. Jabbar graduated from Forestville Military Academy in June of 2015. After graduation, Jabbar enrolled himself into Lincoln Tech’s HVAC program, where he graduated with Honors in June 2016. Jabbar was a driven young man.

When his mind was set on something, no one could deter him or change his mind.
Soon after graduation, Jabbar was hired at Smithsonian Institute as a Utility Systems Repair Operator. This gave him the on-the-job training that led him to “Private Sector” where he worked as a Contracted HVAC Technician. Jabbar’s work ethics were exemplary. Since the early part of 2020, Jabbar has been employed as a Maintenance Technician with Gates Hudson Real Estate Services. He was so proud of his job. He was loved and well respected there too.

Jabbar’s favorite pass time was spending it with his Car Club “Above All Odds”.
His dedication to his comrades was inseparable. Jabbar loved their Sunday Meet ups, participating in Prom Escorts, and also Toy, Coat, and Food Drives with his Car Club. “Above all Odds” Car Club is who gave him the nickname “Jet”. Jabbar was a different type of young man. He was not a follower. He had his own lane that he stayed in which made many people love and respect him. He stayed out of the way and to himself. He loved fashion and making sure he looked good at all times. Again, Jabbar’s number one priority was the well-being of his boys and making sure his siblings was good. He truly was his mother’s right hand.
Jabbar took the necessary steps with his Step-Dad to secure their faith together with God by Baptismal at Greater First Baptist Church of Mt Pleasant Plains. They called themselves Baptize Buddies. Jabbar was a devoted father, son, and big brother.

Jabbar will be missed by his boys, Noah Jabbar Sheffield (1 yrs.) and Logan Jabbar Sheffield (3 mons). His (Mother) LaDawn S. Crocker, (Step-Dad) Jarvon Crocker, (Father) Nakym Sheffield.
