Obituary of Beatrice Pagan

Please share a memory of Beatrice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Beatrice Yvonne Pendleton-Pagan, daughter of the late James and Maybelle Pendleton, devoted mother and grandmother, caring sister, aunt, and friend, departed this life on December 2, 2021. Beatrice was born on April 6, 1935, in Washington D.C. Beatrice was educated in the District of Columbia public school system.  She graduated from Armstrong High School in 1953. Beatrice gave birth to one son, Keith Brown (deceased) who she loved dearly. In 1987 she married her love, Drapher Pagan (deceased) and resided in Hyattsville, MD.

Beatrice was a member of Israel Baptist Church, where she attended service regularly until she took time to care for her loving husband. Beatrice was employed by the District of Columbia Department of Corrections as a registered nurse; affectionately known as nurse Penny until she retired in 1997 to be an official babysitter for her great granddaughter Taylor. Everyone who knew her knows the love she had for her family. She was the one person who everyone relied on, but they also knew that she would tell it like it was. Beatrice was an avid football fan. It was understood that on Sunday’s and Monday’s football games would be on the television all day. She loved the Redskins. Her joy, wisdom, and love will surely be missed, but will remain a part of those who cherish her memory. Beatrice leaves to mourn her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and a host of neighbors, friends, and family.
