Obituary of Clara Ann Robinson Duell
Clara Ann Robinson Duell was born in Bronx, New York on November 11, 1951, to Naomi Robinson and the late Generalee Robinson. After a brief illness, she departed this life on October 29, 2017.
In the late 1950’s the family moved to Washington, DC. Clara attended The First Baptist Church of Marshall Heights where she publically accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior as she was baptized in 1962. She was a member of the youth choir, as she loved to sing.
She later joined AP Shaw United Methodist Church. In 1997, Clara joined Bethel Christian Fellowship and became part of the Mighty Warriors’ Ministry, and a member of the choir.
Clara attended DC Public Schools and graduated from Anacostia Senior High School in 1972.
Clara married her Soul Mate, Ronald Duell. She was blessed with 2 daughters, Crystal and Pamela.
Clara worked for the Department of Health, Education and Welfare for a brief time. She later became Child Development Associate at Zion Baptist Church in Washington, DC and worked as a teacher at JayCees Early Learning Center in Fort Washington, MD. She also worked at the Sunrise Senior Living Center in Alexandria, VA.
Clara was an avid Washington Redskins fan.
She also loved spending time with her family. Clara especially enjoyed, fishing and travelling. She loved people as she was a caring and giving person.
Clara leaves to cherish her memory, a devoted and loving husband, Ronald Duell, Her Mother, Naomi Robinson, 2 daughters; Crystal Wortham (Rick) of Upper Marlboro, MD, and Pamela Young (Anton) of Washington, DC.; 7 grandchildren, Ryan Washington, (Nicole) Jarel Duell, Christy and Rick Wortham, Trent Duell, Dakota Young and Aiden Bethea, 1 Great Granddaughter Zya Washington: 3 sisters; Ellen Keys, Marsha Peterson (Willie) and her twin Vera Watson (Albert);
2 uncles, Charles Pollard of Washington, DC and Phillip Robinson of Gloucester, VA, one aunt, Mary Louise Trimmell of Gloucester, VA.., 2 nephews; Ronald Watson and David, Keys and 3 nieces; LaVerne Glenn, RoneeWatson, and Dawn Keys.
Clara is also cherished in memory by her extended family: 2 stepsons, Dominic Allen and Ronald Duell, Jr.; with 5 grandchildren: Ronald Duell, III, Jeremiah, JaVaughn, Jayelen, and Jorden;:
2 Brothers-in-Law, Kermit Duell and Stanley Duell; 2 Sisters-in-law, Pamela Butler and Sharon Hart.
She also leaves a host of family and friends to carry on her memory.
