Obituary of Maureen Jacqueline Arthur

Please share a memory of Maureen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Our beloved Angel Jacqueline Maureen Noel Arthur affectionately known as Maureen or Mo was born in Trinidad, February 7, 1958.  As a teenager, she spent her time in Grenada with her grandmother, aunts, uncle and cousins who became more like siblings to her. She would often say her younger cousins Len & Michelle Peterson were her first children. While living in Grenada, she met and fell in love with David Arthur.

Maureen is survived by her husband of 46 years, David Arthur, Her twin children Kevin Noel and Karen Miller, Timica Arthur, Teki Peebles and Natasha Browne. Her daughter-in-love Tamikio Noel and son-in-love Curtis Miller. Her grandchildren Mia(Mimi)Noel, Chynna(Chyn Chyn)Noel, Khamile(Mile Mile)Miller, Trinity(Trin Trin)Noel, Ayana(Yanni)Howard, Shekinah(Kinah)Noel, Elijah(Sweet sweet) Lipscomb & Julian(Juju)Noel.  Nine surviving brothers and sisters of whom she absolutely adored & had the gift of bringing together. Her only two living uncles , Lennox Peterson & Ted Phillip whom she loved dearly.  In addition to a host of other God given children and grandchildren that she would always say she was thankful of having the opportunity to be blessed with. Maureen loved her family immensely, she took advantage of any opportunity she had to spend time with them especially when she got to show off her cooking skills and her favorite & only son would Dj tunes for her to dance to. Maureen also found joy in occasional travel with her sister Roslyn Noel or just calling the family to send her love or words of encouragement.

October 1979, she migrated to the United States and picked up residence in New York City. There she worked in stock exchange, but her true passion didn’t come into fruition until she relocated to Maryland where she worked in apartment leasing helping and inspiring others throughout the different neighborhoods. One neighborhood she held very close to her heart was Homer Ave where she worked, lived and developed so many friendships becoming the neighborhood mother.

Later on in her life she began caring for the elderly, and was extremely passionate about this mission.  She touched the lives of all of her clients and their families with her gentle spirit, patience and compassionate heart.

She was a powerful woman of God! She received salvation in the early 90’s and have been on fire for lord ever since. Maureen never hesitated to pray or offer words of encouragement to anyone that crossed her path. She left her mark in all the churches she attended through the years. Her final church home was Ascend miniseries where she completed ministerial training to become a minister and a powerhouse intercessor. She loved her church family dearly, left a lasting impact with her big hugs, uplifting words and reassuring smile.
