Obituary of Elsie Jean McCauley

Our beloved matriarch Elsie Jean McCauley, age 91 of Capitol Heights, MD passed away Saturday morning, January 15, 2022 at Southern Maryland Medstar Southern Hospital.

She was born January 17, 1930 in Washington, DC of the late Archie and Irene Glascoe.

Growing up Elsie attended Terrell Junior High School and graduated from Cardozo Senior High School. Elsie worked for the federal government for over 25 years assisting applicants with the civil service assessment and later retired from OPM earning many awards and accolades.

After retirement Elsie worked with DCPS’ Foster Grand Parents program at Stanton Elementary School in Washington, DC. She was nominated for the 2006 Parent of the Year Award for her commitment and love for children. Elsie had three loves: she loved life, she loved to travel with her best friend Ms. B and most of all she loved her family. 

Elsie is joined in heaven with her son Leonard Walker and is survived by her daughter Patricia Walker Turner and son Michael Walker Sr. Nephew Aubrey Lambert. Daughter-in-laws Annette Walker and Ovonda Walker. Grand children David Turner, Lynett Walker-Tolliver, Caron Turner, Petrice Blanco, Michael Walker Jr, Brittany Walker Allen, Malik Walker, Cortni Walker, Collis Walker. Great-grandchildren Kierra Turner, David Turner Jr., Kayla Turner, Daylen Turner, Devin Turner, Sky Blanco, Lei Blanco, Christian Walker, Makayla Walker, Jayde Michelle Walker, Braylen Tolliver, Kennedi Tolliver, Collis Walker Jr., Caleb Walker, and great-neice Tia Lambert.
