Obituary of Monica Hartley
Monica Hartley was born in Panama to Hanrow Hartley and Eugenia Gill. As a teenager, she emigrated to the United States, along with her aunt, Evelyn Hartley, and grandmother, Ethel Hartley, and lived in New York for most of her life. She was the loving sister to Cynthia, Missy and Hanrow Jr. and helped raise and guide her siblings throughout their childhood and early adulthood.
Monica had the most wonderful sense of fashion and was always “altogether put together” whenever she stepped foot out of the house. In New York, she worked for the NYNEX Telephone Company, as a customer service supervisor for many years before moving to Charlotte, South Carolina. Once in Charlotte, she began working for the Charlotte Area Transit System in their call center. In her new city, Monica made many new friends and was quite the social butterfly. She loved being around people and people loved being around her.
Monica was very loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
