Obituary of Andrew Livingston Thomas
Andrew (Drew/Cliffy) Livingston Thomas age 55 of Washington DC passed away in Washington VA Medical Center on Saturday, February 19, 2022. Andrew was born in Spanish Town, Jamaica WI. on Monday, March 21, 1966 to Leonard Thomas Sr. and Greta(Ellis)Thomas. He migrated to the United States at the age of 5 where he resided in Hartford, CT. Andrew attended West Middle School and Hartford Public High School. After highschool, he joined the army on August 31, 1984 and was Honorably Discharged on October, 17, 1986. Andrew received an Army Service Ribbon Award as a Sharpshooter and a Grenade Handler.
Andrew worked at Unitex in Windsor before moving to Virginia in the nineties. He worked for a few different companies, but at the time of his death, he worked for DDOT in the Traffic Management Center section.
Andrew was a jovial person, he loved life, his family and friends. He enjoyed cooking, a trade he learned at the Hartford Culinary School. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, where he was a part of the #1 Stunnas Motorsports Club, which was so much more than a Brother/Sisterhood, they were a family. They spent time volunteering at food banks, shelters, schools, as well as made donations to charities. Andrew was a member of the Shepherds House International Christian Church. In 2017 He gave his life to the Lord, and began serving right away in the Greeting and Baptismal Ministry.
Andrew was predeceased by his father Leonard Thomas Sr., his mother Greta (Ellis) Thomas, brother, Leston Thomas and nephew Chad Bernard. He leaves a daughter Shirica Nicole Thomas, grandson Malachi Andrew Thomas both of Florida. Five sisters, Teslyn Bernard, Celine Blake and her (husband Silvan), Marlene Thomas, Marva Thomas Taylor all of Connecticut, Jacqueline Tran and her (husband Charles) of Virginia. Three brothers, Leonard Thomas Jr. of CT, George Thomas of Canada, Aspinal Thomas of Jamaica, WI. Two aunts, Olga Barclay and her (husband Ezra) of CT, Eugenie Campbell of Jamaica, WI. Eleven nieces and seven nephews,3 great nieces and 7 great nephews. A host of cousins,friends and a very special friend Judith Little.
