Rashad Davis

Obituary of Rashad DeMaris Davis

Please share a memory of Rashad to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Rashad DeMaris Davis was born on Saturday, July 29th, 1989 in Washington, DC.

He grew up in the Trinidad neighborhood along with his four siblings.

Rashad accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age while attending First Baptist Church.

Rashad graduated from middle school at the former Holy Comforter Saint Cyprian School.  Afterwards, he went on to attend the Massanutten Military Academy in Woodstock, VA.

As a child and on into his teen years, he was passionate about playing football.  Rashad played for the Boys and Girls Club #6 Football Team. He took his athletic talents with him and became an outstanding quarterback for the Massanutten Football Team during his tenure at the school.

Even though he no longer was playing football, he remained an avid fan of the sport.  The Green Bay Packers was his favorite team from childhood and that never changed. He was blessed to be able to attend Super Bowl XXXII where his beloved Packers took on the Denver Broncos and lost.  However, his allegiance to his Packers team never wavered.

Rashad worked various jobs throughout his lifetime. He sold water and Gatorade during the summer months and washed cars all year round.  He worked as a stocker at both Walmart and Safeway.  Rashad had recently started working two jobs, one as a cook at a restaurant and the other as a laborer at a construction company.

He was a lover of family and life and was the happiest when he was able to spend quality time with his family, especially his sons.  Rashad could definitely cut a rug on the dance floor and was always the life of any party. He coined the term “BLACK MAN” and was known to greet his male contemporaries as such. His dazzling smile was his trademark.

Rashad leaves to cherish his precious memories: his mother Joy; his sons, DeMaris, Makel, and Rashad (RJ); his siblings, Angela, Patrick, Christopher, and Destinee; his aunts Donna, Carolyn, Katie (Glascoe), Kathleen; his uncles; Willie Jr. (Spring), Charles (Ann), William (Billy), Robert (Tara) and Marvin (Sheila), his “Uncle Milton” who assisted in raising him, and a multitude of other relatives and friends.

His special “Aunt Tricia” who was the most instrumental in raising him, his maternal grandparents Reba and Willie Davis, and his uncle Edward all preceded him in death.
