Obituary of David Eugene Ball

Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

David Eugene Ball (Tuzon) is the firstborn of four children to Elaine Gertrude Tuzon (Ball) and was loved by his bonus dad Ernesto Tuzon who preceded him in death. David (son, husband, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend) transitioned from this life to an eternal life with God on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Georgetown University Hospital.

David began his earthly journey on Sunday, August 23, 1959, in Fairmont Heights, Maryland. He received his formal education from various schools in the DMV, beginning with Neval Thomas Elementary School, and then completed high school at Fairmont Heights in Maryland. In the latter half of his educational career, David attended Job Corp in Harpers Ferry, WV.

David’s work career included employment at General Heating, Inc. (sheet metal laborer), Southern Maryland Hospital (maintenance), and Washington Post Express (distributor). For the past 12 years, he has enjoyed working as an Environmental Services floor technician at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C.

David was known by many names, Mr. Growl, Ball, Pretty Ricky, Tuzon, and Dad, to name a few. But, no matter what you referred to him, his peculiar laugh remained unchanged. Anyone who knows David should know that he is the Biggest Fan of the Washington Redskins Football Team and the Washington Wizards Basketball Team. David cheered on his teams with much passion. You could depend on David to dress up in his Fan Gear and use choice words when he was not pleased with how the games were going. Even though he never was mentioned as a coach, David would take credit for winning the Redskins three Super Bowl Championships and picking John Wall in the draft of 2010.
One of David’s greatest passions besides music was his love for dogs. He was gifted at training, breeding, and caring for them until the day he transitioned. I guess we could call him the Dog Whisperer of Prince Georges County. His other interests included fishing and singing. But let’s not forget those solo living room concerts where the music could be heard outside his home.

David dedicated his life to the Lord through Save the Seed Ministry in Waldorf, Maryland. He was actively involved in leading others to Christ through his Love, Compassion, and Knowledge of God’s word under the Leadership of Dr. Robert J. Freeman, AKA Pastor Shine.
As David searched for a love he could call his own, little did he know he would find her as he worked handing out the Express newspapers at the Stadium-Armory Metro subway station. On his and Alicia’s second phone conversation, he told her she would be his wife. After two years of courtship, they became husband and wife on May 12, 2006. They were married for 16 years until he transitioned from this life.

David loved and adored his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and coworkers. He had enough love to go around the world at least twice. He never met a stranger and made everyone he came in contact with feel special with his smile and unforgettable laugh.

Life will never be the same without David here on earth, but his memory will live on through the loved ones he has left behind. Elaine G. Tuzon (mother), Alicia Hubbard Ball (wife), Mikaela & Nikolas (daughter & son); two brothers, Daniel Ball and Donald Tuzon (Yvette); one sister, Debra Jones (Greg); bonus brother, Carl Eldridge (Niecy); brother-in-law, Carroll Hubbard (Pearl); mother-in-law, Lizzie Hubbard; and his canine children Gena, Jet, Judy, Rusty, and Blak and a litter of 16 grand puppies.
