Obituary of Shenna Charmayne Blunt
Shenna Charmayne Blunt passed away suddenly in the early morning hours of July 20, 2022 at the age of 60 years old. Shenna was born August 17, 1961 in Washington DC. She was the first of four children born to Cleveland (Sr) and LorethaBlunt. As a child Shenna was affectionately given the name “Stinky” by Cleveland Sr.
Shenna was a very beautiful and intelligent girl with a dynamic personality and a dazzling smile. She enjoyed music, dance, and modeling. Shenna attended Bunker Hill Elementary, Bertie Backus Jr. High, and both Duke Ellington and Woodrow Wilson High Schools, graduating from Wilson in 1979. Shenna began working for the US Department of Labor in the early 1980’s and continued working there for 13 years. Shenna also worked at the White House during the Clinton Administration.
Shenna was a true Washingtonian; she had a style and personality unlike any other. She always garnered attention when she entered a room. Shenna had a generous spirit and was always willing to offer guidance and assistance to her family and friends. Shenna was a devout member of the Silver Spring Church of Christ where she had been baptized in May 1985. She was adamant in her Christian faith and her firm belief in the power of prayer.
Shenna’s closeness to her family was evident. Her love for her parents, brothers and sisters, grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins was boundless. But most of all Shenna cherished her love for her two daughters Shena and Shemia who returned that love unconditionally.
