Obituary of Sadie Mae Hundley
Sadie Mae was the only child born to the late Norwood and Fanny Smith on August 20, 1944, in Norfolk, VA, and peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on Friday, August 12, 2022. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk, VA.
During her career, Sadie held various positions, including as a D.C. Police Officer and U.S. Park Police Officer. She retired as an Administrative Assistant at Microsoft.
Sadie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1983, and joined Evangel Assembly in Clinton, MD, where she served as a counselor, in the Baptism and Usher Ministries, and as an alter worker. She later joined Evangel Cathedral in Upper Marlboro, MD, and served in the Repast Ministry under the Pastoral Care Ministry. In 2017, she joined The Shepherd’s House International Christian Church and served in the Pastoral Care Ministry. During her walk with the Lord, Sadie led many to Christ. She always had a listening ear, and believed in feeding people both spiritually and physically.
Her specialty was her delicious fried chicken and ribs. Oh, what wonderful and delicious cakes she baked!
Sadie was preceded in death by her son, Solomon Mason. Sadie leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband of 47 years, Jerry Hundley; six children, Antonio Smith, Lorenzo Mason, Marva Murphy (Quinton), Sadie Clark (Alonzo), Jacqueline Lorick (Robert), and Jill Hundley; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and in-laws; as well as a host of other relatives and friends throughout the country.
