Obituary of Derrick Antione Whittaker Jr.
Derrick Antione Whittaker, Jr. was born to Derrick Whittaker, Sr. & Christal Marshall on June 3, 1990. Lil-Derrick, as he was affectionately known as growing up, was the oldest of three children between Derrick and Christal.
Derrick was educated in the Prince George’s County, MD school system and graduated from Freestate Academy.
On December 1, 2013, Derrick welcomed the joy of his life, his daughter Denver Whittaker. Derrick enjoyed watching Denver grow up and was very proud of his daughter.
Derrick had such a big heart for those around him. He was very demanding with words and always just took charge. He showed tough love but the love was so strong. He was a loving family man and cherished the time he spent being with family. Derrick was the type of man to wear his heart on his sleeve.
Derrick better known as “ Big Homie” will be remembered for his sense of humor, bossy attitude and goofy smile that lit up the room. Oh, let’s not forget that Derrick was never wrong (LOL).
Derrick leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter Denver Whittaker; mother Christal Marshall; brothers DaJour Whittaker and Dermarco Royster; sister Diamond Whittaker; grandmothers, Patricia Marshall and Shirley Payne; grandfather, Bruce Marshall; four aunts, Deidre Whittaker-Boyd (Chris), Davida Whittaker, Dione George (Derrick) and Catrina West (Laron); two uncles, Andracos Marshall (Chante) and Demond Payne; one god-daughter, Ze’Mari Ford; special friend, Tamika Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Derrick Whittaker, Sr.
