Obituary of Reggie Allen Haynes
Reggie Allen Haynes was called home on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Prince George’s Hospital in Hyattsville, Maryland. He was 67 years old.
Reggie was born on November 4, 1950 to the late Joanna Haynes and Albert Lee Risher in St. George, South Carolina. He attended and graduated from the public schools of St. George. Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served in Vietnam and Korea. Upon leaving the military, Reggie made Washington, DC his home. He was a retired bus operator from the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, also known as METRO. He was a caregiver for his uncle, the late Deacon Louis Risher.
He gave his life to the Lord at an early age at Second New St. Paul Baptist Church in Washington, DC where he attended faithfully until he was called home.
Reggie later made his home in Hyattsville, Maryland. This is where he met his companion, Sharon Parker. Reggie was influential in rearing a son, Antwane Parker, Sr and grandson Antwane Parker, Jr.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Robert Lee Haynes.
Reggie leaves to cherish his fond memories: his life-long companion, Sharon Parker, a son, Antwane (Nicola) Parker, Sr., a grandson, Antwane Parker, Jr., a granddaughter, Kyra, five brothers William and Moses Haynes of St. George, SC, Joseph and Willie Risher of Reevesville, SC, and Willie C. Risher of Springtown, SC; four sisters Agnes Haynes of Irvington, NJ, Priscilla Haynes of St. George, SC and Crystal Brown of Smoaks, SC and Rosa Cobbs of Summerville, SC, two Goddaughters, Latisha Haynes and Ashley Patterson, one Godson Darius Hopkins, two aunts, PerstineCherry of St. George, SC and Mary Risher of Reevesville, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
