Obituary of Herman L. Auerbach
Herman L. Auerbach, born on July 20, 1930 in Passaic, New Jersey, to the late Helen and Louis Auerbach, passed away at age 87 on July 7, 2018 in Waldorf, Maryland. From 1951 to 1976, Herman served in the Air Force where he attained the rank of CMSgt and retired in 1976. In 1983, Herman earned an Associates Degree at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and became a Registered Nurse. During his nursing career he cared for geriatric, psychiatric, and substance abuse patients. Herman retired from nursing in 1988. He was the beloved husband of the late Dora Auerbach (Nicovich) of Biloxi, MS, and former husband of the late Carole Auerbach. He is survived by his daughter, Erica Auerbach of Waldorf, MD; brother, Gerald Auerbach of San Antonio, TX; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. During his life Herman touched many people and traveled the world. He led a life of service and sacrifice and is remembered as a father, mentor, teacher, and friend to all who knew him. An inurnment service at Arlington Memorial Cemetery is pending.
