Byron K. Horne Sr. affectionately called Kelly by his loving wife, was born on August 11, 1963 in Washington DC. He was born to Adolphus Sr. and Dorothy Horne at Sibley Memorial Hospital. Byron attended DC public schools, and at the early age of 15 he attending the Breath of Life Crusade in 1978 at the Warner Theatre. At the end of the 10-day Crusade, Byron decided to give his life to Christ. Byron grew up in Washington DC and received his secondary education from McKinley Tech High School. Byron always had a love for driving especially his 1987 Dodge Ram Charger, this prompting him to get his CDL certification in Delaware. He was employed by the Central Wholesalers and he was excited to join his father and uncles working for the DC Public School System. Byron went on to work for the United States Postal Service where he was employed for 23 years. 

In 1991, Byron married the love of his life, Pamela Dodson Horne and was happily married for 30 years.  They were blessed with five beautiful children: Byron Jr., Nicholas, Elijah, Tiffany and Caleb.

Byron was known for his jovial personality, warm smile, and his generous nature. He believed in family first and if you had a minute he always loved discussing the Bible, as well as telling family stories. He was mild-mannered and always approachable. He was known for not being easily ruffled and had a calm and quiet disposition. 

Byron was a dedicated member of the Breath of Life Seventh Day Adventist Church. There he served in several capacities including the Senior Choir, Marriage Ministry, Small Groups and Culinary Ministry for 4 years. Byron was a master chef and he was always ready to share his Culinary expertise.

Loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle Byron Kelly Horne Sr. went to sleep in Jesus on Sunday, May 17th, 2020 in his home in Waldorf, Maryland. He is preceded in death by his father, Adolphus Horne Sr., and his youngest son Caleb G. Horne. Byron is survived by his wife Pamela, sons Byron Jr (Jayla), Nicholas, Elijah, his daughter Tiffany. His mother Dorothy Horne, siblings Angela Horne Jackson, Adolphus Jr (Nicole), and father and mother in-law Bobby and Faye Butler. God children Ashley Palmer, Tyler Key, and Zora Jakes and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Byron’s favorite bible verse was, Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV) - Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

As a memory of him we will keep this verse in our hearts. 

Arrangements are private, a Memorial Service will be at a later date.
