Obituary of Raekwon Najee Brown

Raekwon Najee Brown, affectionately known as “Rae” by his family and friends, was born July 17, 1996 in Tullahoma, Tennessee. He and his family relocated to the Washington metropolitan area when he was at an early age. Rae had a keen sense of humor and was somewhat of a jokester. He is remembered for having an abundance of boundless energy and a tremendous devotion and appreciation of family. An avid gamer, Rae was an Anime enthusiast with a particular affinity toward Kakashi Hatake Naruto. A graduate of Friendly High School, in Fort Washington, Maryland, Raekwon participated in both baseball and football. He was a passionate Dallas Cowboy fan and enjoyed fishing at Jonas Green State Park in Annapolis and the Loch Raven Reservoir with his mother and his dear friend Bradley. Rae absolutely adored his Grandmother Juanita’s potato salad. His favorite snacks included pizza, corndogs, and wings. 

Upon graduation from high school, Rae launched into his career at Clark Dietrich in Dundalk, Maryland, where he was employed for five years. Rae dedicated his life to Christ and was a member of Judah Christian Center, where he actively participated on the Youth Ministry and the Church Security Team. Raekwon entered into eternal rest June 30, 2021.

Raekwon is predeceased by his father Damien Gerard Brown. He leaves a number of loving family and friends with cherished memories.  These include: his mother Zipporah Brown; grandparents: Juanita Brown, John Thompson, Rev. Dr. Jacqueline Stevens, Mark Stevens Sr., and Lorretta Stevens; two sisters: Shiquia Stevens and Trinijah Brown; one brother: De’Jau “DJ” Stevens; three uncles: Mark Stevens Jr., Ephraim Stevens, and William “Moochee” Cannady who took on the role of a father; five aunts: Lavon Stevens, Cynthia Stevens, Charlene Stevens, Kimberly Duncan, and Ashley Stevens; two nephews: King Stevens and Kreed Stevens; two nieces: Zuri Stevens and Gianni Brown; godmother: Carolyn Powell; godfather: Dwight Berry; mentor: Robert Black II; special friends: Steve Clark and Shane Gorsuch; and a host of other relatives and friends.
